Balancing The Coin: The State of EMEA’s Last Mile

Every delivery is a balance between cost and customer experience, and 2026 pushed it off-centre. In February, a geopolitical conflict disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. The shock hit the last mile, which is already the most expensive and fragile part of the supply chain, and EMEA, at the center, felt the impact first. Keeping that balance depends on knowing which assets, operating models, customer promises and technologies truly earn their keep.

The Pressures Shaping Last Mile in EMEA

96% of firms pay more per delivery than a year ago, and operators running their own fleets are 2.3 times as likely as fully outsourced firms to see costs outrun revenue. Businesses also keep selling speed: 43% offer same-day delivery, yet only 11% say it’s what customers value most. And while AI is widely in play, just 18% run it at scale, with 51% still partway through rollout.

Find out all this, and more, in the Eye On The Last Mile 8.0- EMEA Report, which draws on 4,000+ data points from shippers and logistics providers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Download it below and see what leaders must do next.
